I always make sure I get the car in for a check up before we go on any road trip. That is the last thing I need is our car breaking down in the middle of the road. When I travel, I am usually with my kids, so for me to have a stress free trip preparation is always necessary. When it comes to the kids, I make sure they will have plenty of entertainment to keep them busy the whole trip. I let them pack their own backpacks full of activities and then I will bring my iPad along with me to entertain them. With my iPad, they have more of a variety of things to do. They can play games, watch movies, and watch TV through my provider DISH Network. With the Sling Adapter hooked up to my receiver on my account, the kids have access to all our subscription channels and DVR recordings. So the kids can watch live TV anywhere we can get a Wi-Fi connection. They can watch all their favorite channels and it keeps them happy and quiet for hours. A co-worker at DISH told me that they recently added the Blockbuster Movie Pass to the iPad, so not the kids can stream those movies also. I back plenty of snacks and a lunch so that we can stop at a rest area and the kids can get out and stretch.
