How to Resolve Problems during Your Stay in Hotels in Spain
Spain is the 12th largest economy in the globe and the 5th largest in the European Union. It’s no surprise that lots of the world’s largest businesses put up either branches or their headquarters in Spain.
If you have to do some business transactions in Spain, you might have to spend a few nights in any one of the business hotels in Spain. Travelling, company issues, and other concerns can be quite stressful, and you would just wish to check in your hotel, get some much-needed rest, and enjoy a pleasant stay. However, you may encounter inconveniences during your stay that will make your hotel experience less desirable.
Here are practical tips on how to raise an issue without being overbearing to the staff.
1. Is the issue really worth your time and effort? As a business traveller, you are simply exhausted and stressed out. That issue may be quite unimportant and not worth complaining about.
2. If there is indeed a problem but can wait, try to let your corporate department to address it. Take note that they are the people who booked your stay, so they should be responsible in settling it. If you are attending a convention, enable the convention manager to solve it.
3. If you decide that the issue should be handled immediately, know what you really want. A discount? A bigger room? A free-of-charge meal? When the hospitality establishment agrees to your want, you will most likely feel compensated and the issue won’t escalate out of hand.
4. Do it promptly. Go immediately to the front desk and tell the staff about the issue. Often, front desk people have the capability to fix the issue immediately. If not, request to see the supervisor or manager. And even if you end up complaining to the general manager, the staff in the lower tier will be the entities who will implement the solution.
5. Control your temper and keep your voice down. No one wishes to try and help a raving, angry person. Take note that in the eyes of other patrons, the one who is screaming is an idiot. Be courteous, objective, and civilized.
6. Once your problem is resolved, give thanks to everyone involved. Better yet, take note of the names and forward your thanks to the hotel’s senior staff.
Have a beautiful stay during your cheap holidays to Spain.
